BACKEND ARCHITECT - JAVA (GYTM)

Location: Budapest, XI. district, hybrid (3 days/week in office)

Salary: competitive

Type of employment: full time, contracting

Tasks:

Lead multiple software engineering teams, managing project portfolios to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize software development processes and workflows for greater efficiency.
Mentor and oversee senior technical leads and architects to foster innovation and maintain technical excellence.
Collaborate with business leaders to align technology initiatives with overall organizational goals.
Set and communicate strategic direction for the software engineering function, establishing long-term objectives.
Evaluate, recommend, and adopt tools, platforms, and methodologies to continually improve team productivity.
Represent the software engineering function in executive meetings and strategic planning sessions.
Drive innovation in software design and architecture, championing best practices and maintaining high standards of quality.
Serve as a technical thought leader, staying current with industry trends and advancements to promote continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
More than 15 years of expert-level experience in the Java ecosystem, including deep knowledge of memory management and advanced Java language features.
Extensive experience of architecting, designing, and delivering large-scale, enterprise-grade applications.
Mastery of Object-Oriented Design principles, advanced architectural patterns, and building highly complex, distributed systems and microservices.
Proven track record in leading technology initiatives, aligning them with business objectives, and driving technology decisions with financial awareness.
Advanced DevOps expertise:
Proficiency in:

Advantage:

Hands-on experience with additional JVM languages (e.g., Kotlin, Scala).
Experience designing and implementing serverless architectures.
Exposure to big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Experience with cloud-native application design.
Contributions to open-source projects or technology communities.
Advanced knowledge of security best practices for distributed systems.
Experience with legacy system modernization and migration to cloud or microservices.
