About the position:

The Business Analyst will support product managers, delivery managers and product designers in understanding existing systems’ functionality as well as customer and colleague needs. They will define requirements to shape product offerings for [focus area here] including [specific example 1 within focus area], [specific example 2 within focus area] and [specific example 3 within focus area], and ensuring we build and release software which helps us achieve our business goals. The Business Analyst will ensure a high-quality, streamlined customer experience which enables our customers to [accomplish the goal(s) that this product area will help them accomplish]. This role will work closely with Product Design, Solution Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery within Technology Solutions & Services. They will also collaborate closely with commercial stakeholders including marketing, sales, and change management as well as with our commercial and vendor partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Work hand-in-hand with team members to transform platform product strategy into actionable technical requirements and realistic timelines.
  • Partner with Solution Architects, Product Managers, and other key leadership to document and design new and existing solutions.
  • Analyze current systems and products, producing functionality gap documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable user stories, with detailed acceptance criteria and related test cases.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure a shared understanding of feature specifications, and ensure those features are efficiently and effectively built, tested and launched through the full software development lifecycle (SLDC)
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of product roadmaps and program plans. Provide insights to help prioritize features and initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between product development teams, program managers, and other stakeholders. Ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify risks and challenges related to your area of product and program initiatives. Work with delivery management, team members and stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as Product Owner on agile scrum team, representing users and stakeholders within the team, managing the product backlog and ensuring delivery of valuable, usable increments.
  • Analyze data related to product performance, program metrics, and customer feedback. Create insightful reports to support decision-making.
  • Research industry, customer, and competitor trends to inform future development.
  • Balance customer needs with resource constraints and roadmap timelines
  • Clearly articulate tradeoffs and get buy-in from cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal and external engineering teams, design, marketing, sales and customer success
  • Proactively build relationships with those outside of your immediate team resulting in horizontal influence
  • Create documents, training presentations and other critical go-to-market items for internal teams to ensure successful rollout and adoption of new products and enhancements.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in business analysis, product management or in a hands-on operational role working with technology (Project Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, etc.) and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written language communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise and effective communications to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience analyzing complex technology platforms
  • Knowledge in business analysis techniques such as MoSCoW, SWOT, etc.
  • Experience using data analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, Power BI) to bring insights
  • Passion for improving customer experience and collaborating effectively with engineering
  • Well-organized, able to multitask and prioritize. Experience managing competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.
  • Emotional intelligence, building authentic and trustworthy connections with both internal and external stakeholders, to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Comfortable with trying things and sometimes failing
  • Resourceful, able to achieve results creatively with finite resources, get around roadblocks and stay focused on goals
  • Analytical and detail oriented, finding meaning and action in numbers, thinking strategically, and willing to get into the weeds
  • Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) are advantageous.
  • Fluent English
